Atomoxetine is a non-stimulant medication for ADHD in patients 6+ years old. It works by enhancing attention, self-regulation, and other executive functions with effectiveness similar to methylphenidate but without abuse potential. Benefits begin within 1-4 weeks, with full effects developing over time. Can be used alone or with stimulants. Maximum daily dose: 70mg for children/teens, 100mg for adults.
